Warhammer World, Nottingham
A Battle Brothers Weekend is a very simple concept. You will play five relaxed games of Warhammer 40,000 over two days, in a team with one other person as a team of two.
The objective of the weekend is to relax and enjoy some fun games. We have awards available for sportsmanship, painting and good generalship, so there is something for everyone to aim for. It’s the kind of event where no-one plays to win at all costs, and you can expect to see well painted armies by the bucket load and a host wonderful players to game against.
854998.M41: The Battle of Shadowbrink
It was Inquisitor Kryptman was first alerted the High Lords of Terra to the presence of a new Hive Fleet; a Tyranid force so vast that it threatened to consume whole galaxies, which he named Leviathan. This new alien threat appeared to have skirted the galactic rim, and its tendrils stretched out across the Segmentums Ultima, Tempestus and even Solar. By the time Kryptman raised the alarm, Leviathan had consumed many worlds, including Valedor and St. Capilene. The Forge World of Gryphonne IV had fallen silent and the agri-world of Tarsis Ultra was embroiled in a bloody battle for survival. Kryptman ordered the evacuation of thousands of planets, and set up the now infamous cordon, a living barrier of abandoned Imperial citizens who were there to unwittingly slow the Tryanids’s advance.
But one planet would refused the order to evacuate. This was Shadowbrink, a shrine world of sweeping gothic spires and macromausolea. Beneath it’s capital city of Rossov lay a terrible secret. A piece of obscene arecotech from the Dark Age of Technology, named the Maelstrom Cradle, guarded by full regiments of the Astra Militarum and companies of Space Marines, including the elusive Grey Kinghts.
As the Tyranids descend upon Shadowbrink and the slaughter begins, the Maelstrom Cradle begins to glow, cruel runes upon it’s surface bursting to life. The fate of Shadowbrink hangs in the balance…
In this fun weekend-long event, play five great games of Warhammer 40,000 alongside your gaming partner, meet new players and enjoy everything Warhammer World has to offer as you totally indulge yourself in your hobby for a couple of days. Expect the unexpected this weekend, as the Maelstrom Cradle bursts to life amid the slaughter on Shadowbrink. Twists, turns, new objectives and unexpected special rules are the order of the day…
