Warhammer: Age of Sigmar Doubles Tournament

The Warhammer: Age of Sigmar Doubles Tournament is a classic event that pits teams of two players against each other in a weekend of fun, exciting games. Once the dust has settled we will crown a pair of champions, whose glory shall be writ across the heavens! To carry the day astute army selection, careful planning and cunning generalship will be required, as teams battle it out against equally skilled opponents over the weekend. Don’t forget that playing in the spirit of the game and having a nice army too are equally important, as they are often the tipping point to determine the overall winners on the scales of victory!

With awards for gaming, painting and sportsmanship, all are welcome to come to Warhammer World and take part, no matter if you enjoy a really engaging game of Warhammer: Age of Sigmar or if you prefer to just showcase a stupendous army you are very proud of.

It goes without saying that even if you are quite new to the hobby you should consider coming along – there are lots of prizes to aim for, from painting to gaming. Even if you don’t fancy aiming to walk away with some awards under your belt, you are guaranteed to meet warm, welcoming Warhammer: Age of Sigmar enthusiasts who will make for great opponents leading to a fantastic weekend overall!

All of this while playing in our custom gaming centre – Warhammer World (ever played games in castle? No? Then what are you waiting for?!)

Date: 24th– 25th March 2018

System: Warhammer: Age of Sigmar Matched Play.

Format: Doubles. You will play as the same team of two throughout the weekend.

Army Size1,000 points per player for a total army size of 2,000 points.

Battleplans: Pitched Battle Battleplans from the General’s Handbook 2017.

Number of games: Five.

Army Selection: See the Picking Your Army restrictions chart on page 75 of General’s Handbook 2017. Each player will use the “Vanguard” restrictions for their force. Each player’s force may come from different Grand Alliances, and may have different allegiances. These allegiances do not need to be able to ally with each other, but allegiances within a player’s force must be able to ally following the normal rules in the General’s Handbook 2017.

Publications in use: All current and in-print Warhammer Age of Sigmar battletomes , Grand Alliance books, warscroll compendiums (including those from Forge World), General’s Handbook 2017, and any warscrolls and warscroll battalions with a Pitched Battle profile, unless their release falls on the weekend of the event. We expect you to use the most current warscrolls for your models – e.g. those found in a battletome rather than a Grand Alliance book or warscroll compendium.

Meals: A hot lunch is provided on both days.

Extra activities: Painting competitions, Saturday night entertainment and free entry to the Warhammer World exhibition.
